"I lost weight and inches and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the retreat. My experience truly was LIFE CHANGING! When I first enquired about Life Changing retreats, I was looking for something different and I certainly wasn't disappointed.  Rachael and Claire are both so passionate and it shows in everything they do. What I really liked was how they treated everyone as an individual and used lots of different strategies to encourage and motivate and keep you interested.  Their enthusiasm was addictive making the retreat hard work but fun to do, leaving you feeling fantastic!

The food served was delicious and not once did I feel hungry. My relationship with food has completely changed and I am still able to enjoy food but in a healthy and balanced way. I actually can’t believe the amount I used to consume – how did I do that! The retreat was set in the most idyllic surroundings and felt like a total get away. There were no distractions and I was able for the first time in a long time, focus completely on myself.

It has been four weeks now since I left the retreat and the weight I lost is still off. I feel a completely different person, more confident and lots more positive about life and for the first time ever, in control of my weight. I feel AMAZING!

"When I read about life changing weight retreats I was sceptical of just how life changing it was going to be. I had been overweight for most of my adult life. I had no idea of what it would look or feel like to be a ‘normal weight’ I only ever dreamt of it. Every year I try the latest diet solution and would lose up to a stone only to put it all back on again and often a little extra by the end of the year.

What interested me in life changing retreats was the all female, gentle approach to a healthy life style by re-educating me on what to eat, how much to eat, how to enjoy being active without having to go to the gym and changing my relationship with food. FOOD was everything, it made feel better and yet on the flip side so so much worse about myself. I would eat to reward myself, to comfort and to celebrate, in fact any occasion or situation I would allow myself to think that food was the feel good factor. Only to realise very quickly that the food was in control of me.

At Life Changing the Psychologist, Claire taught us how to address these patterns of eating and get back (or in my case for the first time) to be in control of what I ate and when. Rachael the PT has endless energy and showed us that being more active can be fun and you can actually want to do it rather than see it as a have to.  I was worried about being hungry and being starved. By the end of the week I was actually leaving food and we were shown what is the right amount and balance of what we should be eating. 

In addition to all this I came away with a new me and energy to change so many other aspects of my life. I have continued to keep the weight off and keep losing more without trying! (Over a stone in 6 weeks) I have changed my career and currently in the process off relocating. So for me and I know many of the other woman on our retreat it really was a life changing experience."

"After years and years of yo-yo dieting and bad experiences of boot camps, I had given up on the idea of ever losing weight permanently. There was no getting away from the fact that my pathetic attempts at weight loss were doing nothing but making me miserable. I was so despondent and to be honest quite depressed with it all. After reading about Life Changing Retreats, I decided to take the plunge and give it one last try.

Unlike other boot camps and weight loss camps I had tried, Life Changing didn’t believe in starving your body to lose those extra few pounds. My experience of other camps was miserable; all I thought about all day was food and the biggest treat of the day was the one wine gum we were allowed to eat midday – wahoo! At Life Changing we were given plenty of food and educated to eat correct portion sizes. With Claire’s help, I was able to recognise my patterns of emotional eating and overcome barriers that had been holding me back for years. Claire’s insightful and positive approach made me think about food in a totally different way. I feel like a completely different person since my time at the retreat and I haven’t once felt deprived of food. We weren’t taught to cut calories or to restrict certain foods and I can honestly say that I believe dieting is a thing of my past and I’m actually enjoying food ‘guilt free’.
The exercise was fun and varied, I can’t say that it was easy but I loved every minute of it. The time passed in a flash and since I left the retreat I now exercise regularly and can’t believe I actually enjoy it.  The results I have achieved are brilliant and I have lost all the weight I wanted too and dropped a dress size!

My week at the retreat was not like anything I had experienced at other boot camps. Rachael and Claire are exceptional people, full of energy and life. Just being around them inspires and motivates you. I’ve possibly tried more camps than most people. "I’m not a very interesting case, probably very typical. Mother of three, youngest has just started school and standing at the school gates was just Hell! I couldn’t blame the excess weight on my youngest as he is now 5. That’s 5 whole years post pregnancy and it was becoming difficult to pass off my excess weight down to my recent pregnancy! With nowhere to hide I wanted a quick fix shock treatment. My friend told me about Boot camps. I thought great in one week I will exercise like mad eat nothing and come back thin again. Yes that’s all 2 stone gone! Not unrealistic at all I thought. Then in looking at the boot camps I realised I hate exercise, salads and was very unlikely to be hitting the gym several hours a day post boot camp so would put it all back on again. However in searching for boot camps I came across LC weight loss retreats. It looked different so lovely, inviting and inspiring I was sure this was my magic wand.
I had a fantastic time, met some amazing people just like me and learnt so much about myself and why I was eating my own body weight of food every week and not losing weight!  Claire was enlightening and focussed us on our eating habits. She helped us to identify strategies to overcome world famine due to my excessive eating. I know now why I do what I do and I have chosen to do something different and it feels great.

Rachael is fab, I mean how is it possible to get a bunch of us women to actually feel invigorated after exercising and it is all true on many occasions we were unaware we were exercising as we were just having so much fun.

I didn’t lose all 2 stone in one-week surprise. I did lose 4 pounds and 3% body fat not forgetting loosing the weight of the world off my shoulders. I want to live here permanently forever. Thank you LC you truly helped me to look at my life differently and change it for the better."
