FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Click on the questions below to find out answers to some of our most commonly asked questions...
Can men attend?
Our Weight Loss Retreats are Women Only.
How many ladies will be on the Weight Loss Retreat?
Our Weight loss retreats are designed for a maximum of 20 ladies. We believe this is an optimal number to ensure that our Life Changing team is able to spend adequate time with you both as a group and individually.
Do I need to have a certain level of fitness?
There is no prerequisite in regards to levels of fitness. Our Fitness Trainers are highly experienced in adapting all sessions to cater for varying levels of fitness. At times, the group will be split to allow you to work at an intensity appropriate to you.
Will you assess our fitness?
Yes, our Personal Trainer will assess your fitness at the beginning of the week.
What do I need to bring?
When you book you will be sent a list of everything you require. The list is seasonal and may vary. We supply all exercise equipment.
What is the accommodation like?
The accommodation is carefully chosen. We only use 4 and 5 star rated cottages and barns in beautiful rural locations to ensure that after a hard days training you can relax in comfort.
If I book a twin room, whom do I share with?
You will share with a fellow client. The majority of our clients share with others whom they have not met before, and many form good friendships during the week.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results during the week may vary depending on height, weight, BMI, perceived physical exertion and current activity levels and nutrition. Everyone will lose some weight. However, weight alone is not a good indicator of change. We will be looking at many other aspects of weight loss – Subcutaneous and Visceral Fat levels, Lean Muscle Mass Percentage and Body Girth Measurements. Your Fitness is guaranteed to improve and you will see changes in tone and shape. We have an aftercare package to enable you to continue with your new lifestyle, increased fitness and weight loss. We will help you achieve your long-term goals under our continued advice and motivation. You will also have the continued support from the other clients who have experienced the journey with you.

If I am diabetic can I attend the Retreat?
It is recommended that carbohydrates are the majority source of dietary intake for a person with type I and II diabetes to help regulate insulin levels. The Weight Loss Retreat diet has a reduced carbohydrate content. For a person with diabetes, this would mean that your blood sugar levels would constantly be lower than normal. Although physical activity is recommended to help control diabetes, it needs to be a controlled amount closely linked to the dietary intake. Aerobic exercise lowers blood sugar levels and with resistance training, although an increase is seen to start with a dramatic drop can occur post exercise. The intensity and variance in physical activity on the Life Changing programme could cause problems to those with diabetes and more carbohydrates are likely to be needed in the diet to regulate blood sugar levels. Therefore, there would be an increased risk of hypoglycemia. This would mean that a form of glucose would be needed on regular occasions to prevent this and unfortunately this is not available on our eating plan. If you are looking to attend for fitness rather than weight loss we could look at adapting your diet but this would need to be discussed and agreed prior to your attendance.
